How old do I have to be to rent?

The minimum age is 21 years of age. At time of rental, an underage surcharge of $10 per day will apply to drivers under the age of 25.

What do I need to rent?

All renters must present a valid driver’s license and a valid major credit card. At this time we cannot accept pre paid credit cards. In addition, we will require a third piece of government identification.
One of the following government identification will be accepted:

Provincial Medical or Health card such as the BC Care Card
Passport
Canadian Permanent Resident card
Nexus card

Can I use my learner’s driver’s license?

We do not accept a learner’s license.

We will accept a Novice driver’s license.

A New driver surcharge of $19.95 per day will apply.

Can I have another person drive the truck?

Yes. As the renter you must present a valid driver's licence and credit card. You can add up to 2 additional drivers. All additional drivers must be at least 21 years of age and must present a valid driver's licence. The charge for additional driver is $10.00 per day per driver. Surcharges will apply to underage and new drivers.

Can I use another person’s credit card if I have their permission?

No. At the time of rental, the renter is required to present a valid driver’s license and credit card with his / her name on it.

Will my credit card be charged when I make the reservation?

No your credit card will not be charged when you make a reservation. You may cancel your reservation up to 72 hours prior to your pick up time without penalty. However if you cancel within 72 hours of your pick up time, a $100.00 fee will apply.

How do I cancel an existing reservation?

You can cancel your reservation on line as long as you have the last name and confirmation number for the reservation.

What kind of deposit is required when I pick up my truck?

A credit card hold for the estimated amount of the rental plus $300.00 will be placed on your credit card at the time of rental. For rentals exceeding three days, a deposit for the estimated amount of the rental plus $300.00 will be processed.

What credit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards. At this time we cannot accept any pre paid credit cards.

At the conclusion of the rental we accept debit cards or cash as payment.

Do you deliver vehicles?

No. However we do offer pick up and drop off service. Alternatively we offer up to $10.00 in taxicab fare reimbursement.

Can I return your truck after office hours?

Yes. All the rental locations will have an overnight drop box. The location staff will review the overnight drop off procedure with you at the time of rental. Please note that you are responsible for all and any damages to vehicles returned after office hours.

Can I return the truck at another Budget location?

No. The rates quoted in this website is valid for trucks returning to the original renting location. For one way truck rentals please visit our one way page and complete the one way information request form. Failure to return the truck to the original location will result in addiitonal charges.

What is your fuel policy?

The rental rate does not include the cost of fuel. You have 2 options:

Bring the vehicle back full of fuel and provide a receipt for your fuel purchase
Bring the vehicle back and let Budget fuel the vehicle for you. A refueling convenience charge will be applied.

What insurance do you offer?

All Budget vehicles come with the basic third party liability insurance.
For your peace of mind Budget offers optional Loss Damage Waiver (LDW). LDW is not insurance. It is an option that relieves the renter of financial responsibility, subject to a deductible, should the vehicle is damaged or stolen while under a rental agreement.
At time of rental, the staff will explain the optional coverages available to you.

Do you offer any loyalty points?

Yes. Budget is a proud sponsor of Air Miles Redemption program. Air Miles points are available for all qualifying rentals.

Does Budget rent trailers or car dollies?

No. At this time we do not carry any trailers or car dollies.

Can I tow my car with your trucks?

No. None of our vehicles has that capacity.
